The 1940's

Ducklore

Arthur Storz was an avid sportsman and brewer (Storz Beer) from Omaha, Nebraska. He used the name of his hunting lodge-Ducklore- as a prefix for his breedings. He often used Chesapeakes in his beer ads and they are highly sought after collectibles today. He bred for hunting dogs exclusively and in 1949 served as the president of the ACC.

A chesapeake's epitaph is inscribed on a gravestone near lodge. Before he died Mugs was the best of Storz's retrievers. Squatting beside stone is Rip.
