I think it must be *really* hard with more than one dog, making sure they all get different amounts. We went away for 3 months, and left our oldest friend (knew Reba since a pup) housesitting with her. Her every need was coddled to, and she was fed *absolutely exactly* the prescribed amount, with *never* any scraps or treats (he feared her allergies). Trouble is, missed communication had our friend faithfully feeding her about *70%* of her previous diet. She looked like a greyhound-chesapeake cross when we got home! She was pretty perky, though. (I've read that hunger just makes dogs more agitated, and gives them limited bursts of energy, and that wolves use this extra energy to hunt effectively, so who knows?)
