Subject: Update on Eppie's vet visit

Doc diagnosed her skin irritation of staph. We took advantage of our visit and did our semi-annual wellness visit: complete blood panel (fasting) with a complete thyroid panel and titers, tossed in an anal squeeze, and an overall feel and look at all body parts and organs, and to top it off a spin in the centrafuge of some of her potty that she was so gracious to produce on the greenry just outside the vet door. :-)

So he gave her 500 mg of cephalexin twice a day. I asked him to give her a shot of cephalexin while at the visit just to give her a boost of it in her system and so we started today with a month long administration of it.

He said she probably got it from lying around in the moisture of her outside kennel. We have had an unseasonably damp, rainy, and humid summer. I am also going to be more vigilant with washing it out more frequently with bleach and hot water. I have a outside hose that is attached to an spiket that is hooked up to my house hot water.

So there it is. And Eppie is as eager, energized, and intense as usual. So doc does not think it has anything at all to do with her thyroid.
