Hi kathy,
My Chessie started getting a spotty nose very early on.... I think around 2-3 yrs. old. There has never been an issue.... as she ages, its becoming less and less pigmented. I will try to post a pic of her snout within the next day or so.
She is 10 yrs. old this week. She had a large liver cancer tumor removed in March but I thoroughly believe this has nothing to do with her snout!!! Years ago I may have asked the same question on the board and I'm fairly sure that someone responded by telling me that it had something to do with her not being much of an outside dog. Meaning, not much exposure to the sun. I have no idea but unless your dog is actually developing lesions.... I doubt it's serious.
Good luck!!
D
