If the stiffness continues I would suggest getting a Lyme test done. Our eight year old was getting stiff (got to the point he couldn't go up and down steps) and we found that he had fluid build up around his knee joints. Although his Lyme tests were negative we put him on Doxycycline for 45 days and he runs and jumps the fence just like a deer again!
