His name is Rocky. Rocky had all the same symptons starting at age 2 and every time he would go on strong AntiBiotic regiments. This was ongoing. He would have constant ear infections, scabs, dry flaky skin, and His coat was a disastor. He was also on some steroids. I tried all the foods mentioned on this web site. It seemed he would only be ok for a few months out of a year. Worst would start in July and go thru December when it got cold here in IL. Finally I had enough and took my dog to an allergist. Tests were done. My chessie is allergic to many grasses (grasses that are in bloom from February to December) He now gets a 1ml antigen shot every three weeks. i have learned to do this myself. My chessie has not experienced the scabs, dry flaky skin, thin coat for over two years. Last year he had a slight flare up in October but we started giving his allergy shots more frequent until it got cold. Then he was fine. Hope you can figure this out for your chessie, you may want to check with an allergist. They tested him for all environmental and food. And grasses is the worst. (Doesn't help when Rocky decides to eat grass and yes that will help in flaring) Follow Ups:
