Quote "Why not massage? Reba liked her massages, especially the hydrogen peroxide ones."

With any open sore, tissue damage, or injury to skin/muscle, massages, either by a massager/vibrator or by hand will further injure the area affected
or cause the area not to heal correctly. This is because two reasons. First,
massaging an area (by hand or elec/battery massager) will "pool" the blood in the area (the blood accumulates where massaged). Second, massaging the skin, muscles, joint, will cause heat to build up in that area. The increase
of heat (esp with any kid of "bed sore" or open wound or abrasion will prevent or slow down the natural healing process.
Massaging would be very good after the sore heals to prevent future occurances and stimulate blood flow. But with any sores, the massage is counter-productive. Hope this helps. Charlie
