its a continual thing, loyalty and there companionship increases with time it does not hit a full point, not that I have seen, it amazes me how much these dogs have to give, I don't know who mentioned it, but when the differences between a lab and a chessie were outlined on the message board, I was skeptical about the statement, a lab plays and a chessie thinks. But let me tell you, that is so right, I tried the last few weeks, instead of telling her to stay or to come at the first thought of uttering a command I let her think it out herself. She knows what I expect of her, and I have noticed she has gained more confidence and when we retrieve she has been more determined to please. It is a fuzzy line but she can pick up on it and its a nice feeling because i'm more confident in her and she can sense that to. So my answer is don't look for a comfort point.

When we adopted fergi, I thought she was comfortable the first week, then 3 months went by then I said she was comfortable, then nine months and she is still
showing she is more comfortable and confident so again its continual.
