My husband and I went to NY Chessie Rescue. We saw three dogs, Twyla, Luke and George. The first two didn't seem interested in us, but George keep running around and circling back to check and see what we were doing. When Sandie asked us if there was one dog we wanted to see again and we both said "George".

When he came home, he was nervous and shy. Farted up a storm every day from sheer nerves, poor doggie. He flinched if you moved too suddenly or talked to loudly. So I made an effort to touch him only when neccesary for grooming or meds. i just let him have some space. Then one day as I was standing in the kitchen talking to my husband, not even looking at the dog, George came up beside me and just gave my hand a tenative little lick. That's when I knew.
