I totally agree with Julie here. I have NEVER seen a CBR raise it hackles. Dogs do that to appear bigger and stronger and to bluff the other dogs . CBRS have an attitude that they project to other dogs that they are bigger and stronger and they don't bluff. They are in correct temperament confident dogs who intimidate.

I did a seminar once on the breed. There was a seminar earlier on Tibetan Mastiffs. As I walked Cutter in the dog for the seminar, there were two Tibetans on a leash with their owners. As Cutter approached (calmly walking on lead), they raised their hackles. Their owner was perplexed as to why since Cutter was not being challenging at all.
