With a young dog I use the name a lot only in a postitive way. So the puppy will be Cali, she will be pick up and loved and kissed lots of eye contact and me using her name. Always to associate with something fabulous. I have found that this works wonders because I almost never have to use come or here...I say their names and because that = love to them they come running.

In the same context when they get a NOOOOO or an EH EH...it is never with a name...they know who they are...and the others always have a look like...I didn't do anything...wasn't me.

To your point the other night 2 dogs at the door one going out the other not...I open the door and say...Cash out...Sunny in. Everyone understood what mom wanted, no problems.
