Many vets use a 5-way vaccine (dhlpp) that vaccinates against distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvovirus, and parainfluenza. Others use a 4-way vaccine that doesn't include lepto. My vet recommends the lepto vaccine for any dog that spends time in environments where there is livestock. We do, so we vaccinate for this.

The combo vaccines are usually administered yearly after the initial puppy series, though my vet now uses a vaccine that is given every three years.
