Subject: 3 year old chessy Posted by iowen on January 11, 2008 at 23:07:22: We adopted this guy from a local shelter 3 weeks ago and are looking to rehome him. About 5 months ago we lost our beloved dog and having the new dog around is too hard. We are not ready for another dog. We have worked hard to bond with him through training, walking, running, cuddling, fetch, etc but are not getting connected. In fact, it's a constant reminder of how much we miss our old guy. We have been reading everything we can get our hands on about Chesapeakes hoping it would spark more affection but to no avail. Any advice on placing this dog? He is great around our kids (1 1/2 & 4) and our other dog and cats. He is an absolute sweetheart. Thank you for any help you can offer.
