No no one seems interested in them. Folks talk good and all. But when push comes to shove, few want to step up to the plate. I do have a foster home that will take my two blind boys. It's near me, great set up, use to raise Alpaca's. Always have had at lest 4 or 5 male Chessie's.Have adopted two from me in the past. Only have 3 left right now, and two are close to crossing over the bridge. These folks have a big heart, both retiered and willing to take on these guys in the Spring(March/April) Want to make sure the fencing is safe and last of the Alpaca's are gone. They have hugh big areas fenced in for these guys to keep safe. I might be able to get them to take one of the old one's also. They will be a foster home thou, the dogs will still belong to NY CBR Rescue and we will be responsible for their food and vet expenses.

I think Spring cleaning has already started, as the last 3-4 days I've been swamped with at lest 8 dogs needing to come in. I have gotten at lest 3 people to work on the problems giving them good support when needed. So they can keep their dogs. I've had 4 come in, with another old Senior at 9 yrs. of age waiting till maybe in April or May will be coming in. We've placed at lest 6 dogs since the first of the year. But the reprieve didn't last long. I am hoping & working on more adoptions, but they are for all of the younger dogs I have.

I'm afraid it takes a special type of person to take on a Senior dog. It has to be someone who not only has a big heart, but I think too they have to have a positive out look on death as well as life. Feeling that it is eturnal and go's on forever. Thus be able to take the loss of a dog in a short time after bringing it into their lives. Not everyone or just anyone can handle that. I think it's the people who look at life as a glass half full not half empty, or that it's better to have loved and loss than not at all. Folks who have that type of thinking. Not a lot of them around I'm afraid.

Dosent' make those who can't less good or makes them bad. Folks like that are rare and far and few between. In the mean time. My Seniors are safe, happy and enjoying life. I try to give them as much love as I can. They trust me and respect me. I couldn't ask for more. Looking into their eyes deep into their soul seeing what's really there make this all well worth, any tears that might be shed. Wouldn't trade it for a BIS or a Duel. It's priceless. Helps stretch your heart and keep it full. I truly love my Seniors or as I call them my" lifers". If no one wants them, than they'll stay with me forever. Because I want them & always will. I can't ever say "no". I owe them that much for all they've given me.
